It all started in 1903, when Farmers State Bank was chartered in Davey, Nebraska, just north of Lincoln. The bank moved to Lincoln in 1960 and was renamed Cornhusker Bank to better reflect its Nebraska values.

As Lincoln and Omaha continued to grow together, Cornhusker Bank built a new five-story Bank Center at 8310 O Street in Lincoln, while also opening a branch office in Omaha to better serve the expanding metro area.
